(Anonymous) 2012-07-02 11:01 am (UTC)(link)But I'm with you on not wanting to spend that much money to see it when I could see something else I'd enjoy more. Would she really be that upset if you said you didn't feel like seeing Spiderman? I know the other comments pretty much say to suck it up, but I don't think people should do things they don't want to do. It can breed resentment unless some sort of compromise could be made, like she picks the movie this time, but you get to pick the next one no objections. But then that only works if the other person can make compromises like that and it sounds like your friend doesn't like trying new things and would ruin the experience either way. If I were you I'd just skip it if you really don't want to watch it. Go see something you'll both enjoy and she can see Spiderman with someone else or on her own. It sounds harsh, but it's probably better in the long run.
