So do I...

[identity profile] hello-scorpling.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I usually don't get too upset when someone on the internet claims to hate something I like, but I can see why it could hurt, especially if it's your friends doing it.

11. Ichigo is the reason I can't really get into Bleach. :( I want to, but I get so irrationally irritated when he shows up on screen.

[identity profile] dreaming-faerie.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
2. If you find any, please share? I've never read the books, but I want to now just to know more about her and Tonks.

12. If your friends still shun you, then to hell with them! I'm friends with republicans and we still get along. We like one another because of our personalities, not because of our political ideas. When it comes to topics of that, we avoid them.

14. Smurfs! Yay!

21. I so agree! I see them more as friends and I think its more tragic as that than lovers. I always get told I'm wrong.

Like to hear that story.

Where else would it go? D: ...

Also, 15, I'm sorry to hear you think people hate you, because that's probably not the case at all. I hate randomly asking to friend people because I'm always afraid of being turned down, but that's how I made my best fandom friends. I hope things will work out for you. ♥

Is this in LJ posts or like, ever? Because yes, I agree, I hate it when people do that and sound like idiots, but at the same time, it's a lot easier to type shorthand when you're just chatting.

1, 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 21- whole post?

[identity profile] repeatvoffender.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
1. If I'm supposed to feel guilty for agreeing with this, I don't. I always seem to assume that when people hate something I love, it's because they didn't give it a real chance.

5. Yeah... Not alone. I hate 'netspeak' and emoticons, and all that garbage too. I won't say I necessarily think less of a person, or want them out of my fandom/life/whatever... but for the love of everything holy, it drives me up a wall to see people degrade themselves in such a manner.
Yes, I think it's immature and makes people look less intelligent, yes it gets on my nerves when my friends say or do it to me - and I wish I knew a polite way to make that point-
but I like to think... To each their own?

6. What the flying fuck?

8. Seen it happen to the best.

12. Because Wiccan Vegan Hippies are narrow-minded too?
Seriously. People that preach about narrow-minded jerks are just as narrow-minded most of the time. I don't care what your sexuality/political stand/religion is - if we have fun together, what's the big deal?
Hypocrites piss me off, and it's human nature to be a damn hypocrite.

13. I love my own characters too. Otherwise, why create them?

14. I can't post without a beta, but yes... The fear of plagarism, when I have the balls to think I wrote anything -worth- stealing is intense.

15. Wow, I'm the exact opposite of you. Offline friends, what?

16. Although not on the FF front... I can relate to the whole "when I'm depressed I watch/read something depressing to cry harder." What Dreams May Come, FTW.

18. I can only imagine the wank and discussions this will/has caused.
But I know the feeling.
I hate posting sad shit on my journal, because I don't want people thinking I'm looking for attention or sympathy. I don't want people to think I'm lying, and it -really- sucks when you have something you want to share or get off your chest, and can't....
Newsflash people: Livejournal is not a -journal- it's a way to communicate with friends.
Most people don't post anything private in it, anymore, anyway.

So, yes, I feel you entirely and I'm sorry that anyone would have to go through that.

19. I don't, and I have.

21. Yeah... I wish that about a few pairings myself, and even though I'm not in the particular fandom, from what I've seen of it- I think I understand where you're coming from.

8.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-22 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
8: I totally agree. The fandom turned him into a whiny, weak child. And he was none of those things. I stopped reading fic featuring him altogether because he was always portrayed so badly.

[identity profile] aishiteru.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
3. HAHAHAHHAA OH MY GOD, I LOVE YOU. That's how I felt about Xaldin during KHII. I still like him as a character, but MAN DO I HATE HIM (at the same time) FOR BEING SUCH A BITCH TO KILL. IUASHDGKJ.

11. Well. Bleach is definitely a DBZ kind of manga. Everyone gets stronger ALL THE TIME. Especially Ichigo. But what can you do. Love the series anyway.

13. Aww. I have a character I created that I adore to this day above a lot of others from different manga/anime/books/shows I've taken in. >>; Sadly I can't really do anything with him these days.

23. Holy shit, GO! If you don't, you'll forever wonder if it would have been awesome, and if you missed out. For the love of all that is holy, go.
ext_6137: Yoruichi is really hot :D (Default)

[identity profile] jetamors.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
6. That's... wow. Can't imagine going through that much effort for a fandom thing.

9. OHOHO

14. That's rather unlikely...

15. One thing you might want to consider is friending other people first instead of waiting for them to ask you. Unless their flist is really huge (and even if it is, sometimes) they'll generally start reading your entries.

not!secret #1: And that fandom is...?

not!fandom #2: Y helo thar [livejournal.com profile] teh_no!

I HATE MALEFICENT AND ANSEM FOR THE VERY SAME REASON. D:

[identity profile] missmorrichan.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Notsecret 1: I know nothing about the series itself, but guessing from part of the filename it's Kannazuki no Miko.

Hee hee, "anorexic blonde vampires" XD (man, I wonder why a lot of notable FF males are blonde, anyway?)

(Anonymous) 2007-07-22 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Sarcasm/exaggeration for humorous intent? Democrats are no more vegan wiccan hippies than Republicans are flag-pajamaed gun-waving poor-stomping warfiends. But you knew that... right?

not!fandom 2: I thought the same thing. lol

multiples of three, today...

[identity profile] lorei.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I agree ):

2. :D

3. I killed him the first time...I thought he was supposed to an easy battle o_0 (It's the Riku Replica that killed me, many many times, then all over again. The little bitch >.>;)

6. Fullmetal Alchemist fandom disgusted me >>; it's such a lovely series, but the fans...they're just so mean and clique-ish >>;

9. :D again

12. I'm a Republicaaaan. Strange to see another one!

15. I think I know what you mean -- it's hard for me to talk to and get to know people online, if I don't know them IRL. When I post in communities and don't get replies, I tend to over-analyze and assume it's because no one likes me/I'm annoying/I'm boring (even though I know that's crap, and # of comments don't matter.) Lately, I've been trying to be bolder online, talking to more people and adding, instead of waiting to be added. We'll see if I make closer friends that way :p

[identity profile] shahrizai.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
15. If you find yourself visiting someone's journal a lot just friend them anyway, and leave a comment saying 'hey, you're cool, and I like your entries!'. Yeah, they may not friend you back, or let you into their most secret privacy filter, but you gotta start somewhere, you know? And if they don't friend you back, oh well, you still get their public entries that caught you in the first place on your friends list! I used to be so high-strung about fandom friendships and now I'm just like, if it happens, it happens. If not, no skin off my back.

9. Kudos!! Iroh needs loving. Though I'm sort of hoping it wasn't that Iroh/Zuko fic I came across awhile ago. Incest fic is seriously not my thing, especially there. But anyway, Iroh totally deserves teh sex.

13. Yeah :/ I dropped off following Naruto. And while I don't think they eclipse Naruto and Neji as faves, some of the OCs I made for my fics are just as loved as the real characters.

18. I'd never thought about that. :( That really sucks. My sincere sympathies. Maybe it would help some to get stuff out if you wrote posts, even if you didn't want to actually post them. It really blows that stuff like fakers makes real grief even worse.

22. Wow. That's a pretty abrupt way to have your opinion of someone changed! Crappy situation to have been in, but good ending :)

[identity profile] killcity.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm thirding this.

21 ~ I agree with you SO MUCH.

8. It's Quatre from Gundam Wing

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)

1. Why? I dislike a lot of fandoms that some of my friends are in and vice versa. As long as there's not this conflict between us -- which there never is -- I couldn't care less whether they liked my fandom or not. I loathe Kingdom Hearts 2 with a bitter passion while 90% of my friends adore it. While I don't make a habit of verbally bashing it, it's a known fact and no one seems to give it second thought.

3. I know exactly how you feel. There are some characters I can't stand because I spent several hours trying to beat them. Lol.

5. I don't think less of them, but it is a little annoying. So one asked me once why I bothered with proper spelling and grammar when online. Why would I? I'm a bit of a grammar Nazi myself. While I don't do LJ based RP I used to do a lot of freeform RP in a guild and whenever someone would try to strike up a conversation with my character and they had no puncutation and grammar skills, I couldn't continue to play with them. I'd usually politely excuse myself and block them for a few hours.

12. That's sad that so many friendships can be divided on politics. I'm moderate and while I have a sort of contempt to both political parties it doesn't change how I view my friends. As long as no one's getting into heated debates and throwing their politics in my face I really don't care. I have friends who are ultra conservative and then I have friends who are socialist. It's funny, we can be every different type of religion it seems these days and get along just fine but the moment someone mentions having a different political view all hell breaks loose. I wonder if people would be so adamant about political division if they realized how adversely this exact mentality has affected previous governments.

1. I know the feeling. It's one thing to agree to disagree, but having a fandom you love downright bashed sucks.
8. Quatre! I so paired him with Mary Sues and hated Dorothy back in the day.
15. I have the opposite problem. I have no IRL friends, just fandom friends.
18. It's one thing to fake your death on the Internet (you will be found out, [livejournal.com profile] fake_lj_deaths knows), but if you're legit, that can be proven as well. Post it anyway, if your friends list is made up of true friends, there will be nothing but well wishers.
19. It's one thing to follow the mainstream, it's another to fake it. I guess this is why I gravitate towards obscure OTPs. That way, at least my fangirling is legit.
