Same, which is why I don't tune in often. Though sometimes it is worth it when they have a song like "There's a Platypus Controlling Me".

BUT

BUT

BUT

... okay.

how would you advise getting all phineas and ferb's mysterious inventions to disappear, though? it's usually doofenschmirtz and perry that get them to do it.

Came here to say exactly this. The protest, I mean. Perry and Doof have a wonderful dynamic. I adore seeing the love/hate relationship playing out between them. At the end of the day, they end up more friends than anything. I basically get a sugar rush whenever one of them shows affection to the other.

And uh, maybe I started watching the show for the Ho Yay dynamic and maybe I didn't. That's all.

I'll admit that I disliked the Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz side story when I first started watching Phineas and Ferb, but it ended up growing on me. I'm still more interested in Phineas and Ferb's subplot when I watch the show.

Same here. It took them awhile to find a good place with the Perry and Doofenshmirtz stories, since they became better when the characters were more defined.

Awww. . .I love Doof and Perry.

Particularly Doofenschmirtz. I would be glued to the screen 24/7 if he and Vanessa and Norm had their own show.

But to each his own, I suppose.

I'd watch that! (But I like the Phineas and Ferb parts too.) But whatever works for the OP...

I love Perry and Dr. D's subplot, but okay, different strokes. I like the rest, too. :)

I generally like all of the characters, but everyone has their likes and differences, so whatever floats your boat, OP

I like both plotlines for different reasons. The whole show is like a little sugar injection for my soul. It cheers me up after bad days and keeps me going on stressful days and makes me happier on good days.

Perry and Doof are usually my favorite parts, but to each their own.

Out of all the cartoons I've watched, Phineas and Ferb is definitely a pick-me-up. :)

It is clear to me now that I should watch this.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-03 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
kind of off-topic, but I have grown tired of this show

they have done an excellent job of not making a formulaic "once an episode" plot too repetitive, but I'm tired of Candace being the loony who isn't believed, Jeremy's sis being a demon, Phineas and Ferb doing a great invention over and over, etc.

oh, and Buford (sp?) and Baljeet's relationship sickens me

like, I'm glad they show the bully as another friend, but I don't like the bullying itself, even if his heart isn't really into it and it's mostly for show

(Anonymous) 2012-07-03 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Buford feels like a stereotypical bully from back in the day, so I have a hard time relating his antics to the kind bullies use nowadays. It makes me overlook the bullying aspect of his character since I cannot take it seriously. Like you said, it's mostly for show.

I love the entire show, but ia about Buford and Baljeet. I've seen bullying inside my own house, and the way my brother and sister's relationship is a lot like Buford's relationship with Baljeet. He bullies her all the time and it gets to her, but he doesn't mean it. Doesn't change the fact that my sister might grow up with self esteem issues. I wish he'd stop, and I wish that Buford and Baljeet's relationship wasn't taken so lightly. Bullying is just never cool.

Me and my sisters have this theory that the two subplots were originally two different shows pitched to Disney. The execs were all, "They're good, but the plot is a little thin. It's only about 10 minutes worth of a show..." So they just decided to combine the two most random ideas into one and see if it worked. Goal accomplished, apparently.

Yeah, I'm not wild about it, either.

Why does this war have to exist in this fandom to begin with? Both parts are awesome.
