I believe Zack Fair was designed to be the ultimate desirable figure of FFVII. Everything about him is prefect, beautiful, and noble. It's all to justify Cloud's denial of his death to the extent that he would lose his mind and start personifying him.
What I'm trying to say is I understand someone liking him very much, and you can try to follow in his footsteps, but I hope you realize you can never be him, not even metaphorically, because he's the creation of a mind aiming for ultimate goodness and unobtainable perfection ,not a real human being and if you try to reach that you may be setting yourself up for failure and risk falling into depression.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-05 04:25 am (UTC)(link)It's really more that thinking about the way he is makes me so happy. It's like a little light or flame in my soul that I can go to and know I feel much better about myself.
I'm only really kinda-sorta trans, as I have no aspirations to physically change my body. It's more that the male persona in me is a lot like Zack, and I have lingering thoughts about the otakukin-like ideas that make me wonder. I won't ever be like the FF7 House people, or SummonerYuna, or anyone like that. They disturb me, they take it too far and distort it into something despicable. It's more or less my home base in my heart.
I really understand what you're saying, though. It keeps me very far from depressed, and I'm quite pleased with who I am, more so since I discovered CC and Zack.
