Because my mom is awesome, that's why!

On my birthday this year she was telling me about this again, and she said she was reading an Ursula K. LeGuin book, and I was all HOLD THE PHONE I THOUGHT YOU SAID IT WAS FUCKING ANNE MCCAFFREY and she said, oh, right. I was like, damn right I wasn't born when you were reading a RESPECTABLE author!!

And the irony is, I got bored as hell halfway through the first of those Pern novels anyway.

Oh God, I read the Last Herald Mage trilogy just for the slash, and only stuck with it until the end because I damned well started it and bought all three books in one go. I literally laughed when Tylendel died. Then again, I was never one for the mystical animal bond thing.
