I had to read the book for a an assignment a few years back -this just before the musical really took off-, and I thought it was a decent read at best (for published fan fiction, anyways). I probably should re-read it again, because there was so much that went over my head the first time around. Never did read the ones that followed it, even though they're sitting in my mom's library. Hmm.

I was pretty surprised when I actually saw a list of the differences in the play from the book, tho'.
