Sucks for you!

I, on the other hand, am loving it. It's refreshing to see a teen show that has adult characters in it that are just are involved/important as the kids. (And the kids never get away with anything. Fuck yeah.)
I also love the lack of homophobia

and the female characters are fantastic. Especially Allison reminds me of Buffy, a lot.

Okay so fine, maybe I started watching it for the half-naked guys and the blatant homo-eroticism, but (shockingly) I don't care about that as much anymore as I care about the plot/characters (male and female). I went for the fanservice, stayed because I genuinely enjoy the show.

Oh and can I talk about Derek? Of course I can. He's a ~~gorgeous~~ creepy ass stalker who's Edward Cullen levels of bad, but he never gets away with it. The other characters are always calling him out on it, and it's seriously really refreshing to see that.

Not to mention Peter and that psychotic new kid who stalks Lydia. They sure as hell don't get away with it either. Twilight, Vampire Diaries and True Blood, please take note.

Once you get past the first three episodes (and the unbelievably bad CGI), it's all good baby. I'm not saying they're bad, but the rest of the episodes are so much better (except for episode number seven* - man that was cheesy, and not even in the good way).
Season 2 is rocking my world.

Psh. Grandpa Argent only scares me in the sense that I know that he could kill me without remorse. I think he's a creeper maximus, but not yet nightmare worthy.

That and I amuse myself by imagining knocking him down the stairs and taking away his LifeAlert.

I love it for all the same reasons as you. ESPECIALLY that the adults aren't idiots who are totally oblivious to what is going on. (I am looking at you Vampire Diaries.) Like just when you thought Grandpa was going to be in the dark all season long going for that cliche story of everyone tiptoeing around him with the truth BAM! he knifes Scott and tells him he knew it all along. And in show with werewolves and lizard monsters, Victoria Argent is the scariest thing there is.

I also love how they gave us what originally appeared tired cliches, the arrogant jock, the mean popular girl, the naive new girl, the nerdy best friend, the hero who does everything right and the dark, brooding stranger and just turned it on its ear.

Jackson has severe self-esteem issues and you realize that he is practically friendless. (He bullies everyone into doing things.) Lydia is super smart and tough. Alison is even tougher and can take care of herself, thank you very much. Stiles is not just a nerd but a great friend and a cop's son through and through. Scott is not the brightest crayon in the box and he needs his friends to help him out. (Thank God, he has awesome smart friends.) Even Derek has more layers in that he is not an out and out bad guy or a white hat in disguise.

I watch this and think, "How did this show wind up on MTV? This is the same station as Teen Mom and Snooki, right?"

I know! The sheriff and Mama McCall are amazing. I'll be gutted if either one of them gets killed or left in the dark at the end of the series.
And Mama Argent is seriously scary, man. She gives me nightmares - I love her, but she's scary as fuuuuuck.

Agreed agreed AGREED ♥ I love how the clichés aren't really cliché in the end.

MTV is so hard to figure out. I keep forgetting they used to have good shows like Daria, so shows such as Teen Wolf and Awkward shouldn't be so surprising. But they are.

Yes, yes, yes - to all of this. It's so much more layered than I ever thought it would be. Also, Victoria Argent is the goddamn scariest thing ever.

MISSING THE PERFECTION OF LYDIA, BUT YES TO ALL THESE THINGS.

This. It never stops amusing me to see him be all Urban!Fantasy!cliche!dark and everyone else be like "Ok dude, no. Really. You need to stop that."

The lack of homophobia's great! I love how they treat... the gay character on the show? (forgot his name, because I call them all by nicknames.) But seriously, the fact they treat him normally and it's just an aspect of his character is excellent.

Plus that first gif set is one of my favorite moments. <3 Stiles
