Dude every fandom I'm in (which isn't many) is so much better on tumblr that it's ridiculous. I have never enjoyed Legend of Galactic Heroes more than I do now that I'm on tumblr

I was beginning to think that I was the only person in this thread who thought that. Fandom is so much more alive and awesome there...and it's non-stop too! :3 People usually keep their RL stories for LJ/DW and that's fine with me. *needs her daily dose of purified fandom*

...I never even thought of looking for LoGH on Tumblr. ::facepalms forever:: The fandom was always so insular back in the day (10-15 years ago) that although I always loved the show, I never felt the urge to join in with the fandom. I just quietly collected my shit and never talked to more than a few people about it. :/

Now I'm having flashbacks to the good ol' days where there was yearly panels on it at Anime Expo... xD;

Hnnggg I really wanted to get into it back in the late 90s when I was just getting really into anime and watching a lot of "classics" but back in the vhs fansub days it was just IMPOSSIBLE for a teenager to afford to get all of the episodes when you got 4 episodes on a tape for like $6, I mean that adds up when a series is 110 episodes long (and it wasn't even fully subbed back then, I mean I think the Gaidens were still coming out then too)

Same here. Finding anything on LJ was hard enough, but finding stuff for a mostly dead fandom? Nigh impossible.
Now I just track the tag on Tumblr and there's updates pretty much everyday.
