How do you manage to accidentally 'come across' fic for something so often that it becomes an annoyance? It's a massive fandom, I know it can't be that hard to avoid it. Maybe branch out a little?

...although, now I think about it, it must be really annoying to be a Cas fan who doesn't ship him at all with Dean.

Sassy(best. ship. name. ever.), which is Sam/Cas, is pretty popular, though not as much as Destiel. And Cas/Meg has recently experienced an upsurge of fans. Also, Cas/Anna and IIRC there's some Cas/Gabe. But none are as popular as Dean/Cas.

I know! No need to apologise ♥ I ship Cas with literally every single person he has ever interacted with, pretty much. The Cas/Meg boost is the best thing to come from S7, as far as I'm concerned (multi-shippers have the best fun I s2g ).

But just from going by the Castiel character tag on AO3, Dean/Cas outnumbers them all like, nine to one. Not personally complaining, but I can see how it'd be annoying.

Multishippers do have the most fun! And, y'know, when in doubt, OT3!

Yeah, AO3 isn't the best measure of fic; the spnnewsletter is good(it catalogs posts on LJ), but it too often has D/C outnumbering everything else(including Wincest).

Yes, yes it is. Even if I shipped him with NO ONE I'd be sick to death of the pairing itself, the single-minded insistence that it's canon, and the claims that it's a travesty of homophobic injustice if it isn't.

As it happens, though, I do ship him with Anna. So I get the joy of not only swimming against the fandom current with a dead-end OTP, but also seeing her routinely attacked for having the temerity to touch the damn handprint--I swear that upsets the Destielites more than her sleeping with Dean!--and her awesome scenes get chopped up to remove her from them and edited to make Destiel gifs instead.

I didn't like Anna in her first episode, she seemed kinda MarySue-ish. Yet, I didn't mind that she slept with Dean. Hell, if it were my last night as a human and a former underwear model was like "hey baby," I'd get it too.

I did grow to love her in later episodes and wish they had kept her around. She had her own agenda and own way of doing things, and was a better "foil" than some of the other angels. I don't really ship her and Cas, but I think that if it were canon, it would have had potential.

Julie and Misha had some lovely chemistry going on. I'd so have loved to see them interact further, whether as siblings or a couple, either way would have been awesome.

I'm going to assume that you are saying that Dean *looks* like a former underwear model? Otherwise, if there was an episode where the audience learned that Dean once modeled underware, I would like to be informed of this. I read an absolutely HILARIOUS CRACKfic once where John made Dean go to an open audition for the GAP and he was scouted by Calvin Klein, and I have to admit that it totally became my head-cannon. So, if this is actually cannon, I NEED TO KNOW!!!!

Oh god I sympathise so much :( Cas/Anna was the first ship I loved in SPN and I adored Anna. Then they villainised and killed her in the worst way god I hated that.

As for the handprint thing, that's pretty much an instant deal-breaker to me. Hating Anna in general, actually. Being disinterested fair enough, but I've never seen anyone hate her for a decent reason.
