SO I PAID TO SEE AVENGERS AGAIN

[personal profile] agentcthulhu 2012-07-11 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
AND I HAD A HELLUVA GOOD TIME. Though the lack of Loki bulges were a downer (but it's okay 'cause his jacket is sicker! :D), I was more than entertained by all the curvaceous buttocks.

Okay, okay, I'll be Sirius serious and stop discussing other people's crotches.

Now that I know what storyboards are and have newfound respect for storyboard artists, I noticed how well scene changes were handled and how smoothly the action scenes flowed. I also saw how ill Loki looked at the beginning - when the tesseract spit him out - and how he cried after stabbing Thor.

Was Loki coerced into an alliance with the Chitauri? Was he less than happy with that he had to do? Y YES I DO THINK SO.

Bring on the redemption!Loki fics!

Also, the second end-credit scene made me very hungry. I should have bought popcorn >_<;;

...And I now have a second bag of popcorn in the microwave.

Perhaps I should look at Hiddleston GIFS while eating it.

Also boo redemption!Loki! I like him evil. Sometimes. Okay I lied. I like them both.

do you do that thing where when someone says "Are you fucking serious" and you reply with "No, but I wish" or "I prefer Remus".

Ahahahahaahaahahaa. I always think, "No, Remus is."

Every time my brother says "Are you serious" I say, "No, Gary Oldman is." He hates it so much.

Heeeeeeeeee. That's what brothers are for, right? To irritate. I'm sure Loki would agree. :)

Perhaps you should just capslock permanently and claim you are being true to your avatar.

I'm not apologizing for dat popcorn ;)

TBH I like chaotic Loki the best. Not necessarily good!Loki but definitely not evil!Loki. Chaotic neutral, I guess? He tried too hard to "do the right thing" and "prove his worth" in Thor for me to see him as irrevocably evil.

"No, I'm not Remus." Lame joke is lame.

I'm on a anything but woobie!Loki streak right now. I'll probably cycle back but I don't think I can make it through another sentence where he weeps on Thor's chest. I want Loki Silvertongue, God of Chaos, Trickery, and Mischief!

I love redemption!Loki fics, but I'm always looking for something that's a little grittier and darker than what's out there.

Lol. I don't know if it was the screen I saw it on or what, but those dudes have some awesome breadbasket-y hips (what I call 'wide hips' because I'm weird). You can obsess over crotches while I think about the general pelvis area.

Grittier and darker? Sure, I'm down for that but I draw the line at hopelessness and despair.

I didn't notice the breadbasket-y hips at all. I just might give them more $ and watch it again since bulge-watching was such a disappointment.

...I'm kidding, mostly. If I do watch it again, I'd focus on the technical aspects like musical cues or camera techniques.

I just want to say I am so proud to know someone who can appreciate the Avengers for its pervy and technical details.

I missed the implication of Loki being coerced, however I've only seen it once. I'll have to wait for the dvd or a rip to catch it D:

what is up with watching people eat, because that's like an instant way for me to crave food. Even cartoons. Like, animated pizza makes me really want pizza for instance. And those krabby patties...

Deciding for myself whether Loki was coerced or not was one of my reasons for the rewatch. The part that really surprised me was the teardrop after he stabbed Thor. Think about it, Loki tossed Thor out of a flying airship in a glass cage without batting an eyelash but drops tears after personally drawing blood from Thor? The crying is not a necessary part of his act but it HAPPENED. Sense, it doth not make.

Watching people eat may or may not make me hungry. It depends on what they are eating - like, I'm not big on burgers or cartoon-looking food. But nnnnnnngh The Food Network never fails. NEVER.

Eh, it makes some kind of sense to me. How do I explain it? I think he didn't mean to kill Thor, he was trolling him more than anything, with a mad gleeful recklessness. In the scene where Loki shanks Thor, he was up close & personal & tempted by Thor's offer & love, and then bitterly rejects it as 'sentiment' because he sees it as too late for him to go back. He also didn't mean to kill Thor here, it was his way of pushing him away & convincing himself and Thor that there was no hope for him.

.... man, don't make me have to go out and see it a fifth time.

(though the theater at the Mall of America has matinees for $6 so it's not exactly a huge financial commitment to see a movie.)

Ugh, the only redemption!Loki I like is where Loki totally is a giant evil shithead, but then, like, attacks another enemy to protect Thor and gets pulled out of his pit of resentment and GENUINE evil batshittery with the power of family loooooove Darth Vader style. I absolutely despise the "he was actually an ok guy all along" brand of redemption!Loki.

The whole movie would be ruined if it turned out Loki actually wasn't evil during its events, because half his greatness in the film was seeing him extravagantly polish his ego on random helpless Germans, get compared to Hitler by an old guy, get punk'd by Natasha, get verbally bitchslapped by Tony, get smashed into the floor by the Hulk, break Thor's heart with his repeated betrayals, break the entire cast's (and the audience's) heart by killing Coulson, get blown into a wall by almost-dead-Coulson, get blown into a building and have an arrow shoved into his face by uber-BAMF-Clint, and other general things that people enjoy watching evil guys for. All that would be ruined, and very cheaply I might add, if he was actually just a not-that-bad flunkie.

(I still want at least a semi-redemption for him in Thor 2 though, but only if he was genuinely evil in the Avengers and the redemption heavily involves Thor).
