It's just a kink, and not really supposed to be realistic, I think.

Be careful about the "yaoi" label though, some slashers are very sensitive about being compared to the manga/anime crowd! No matter how similar the writing is...

Then they need to get over it. If the shoe fits, and all that.

If you're into a genre where one guy is always on top and shares [male stereotypes] and another is always on bottom and shares these [female stereotypes], you're doing the same things most BL authors are.
