(Anonymous) 2012-07-12 01:51 am (UTC)(link)TokyoPop was supposed to present a panel at a conference for convention runners that was held prior to AX and apparently the guy didn't show and sent one of his employees who knew nothiiiiiiiiiing. I think TP is trying to still claim to be in the game, but they seem to not know what the hell they are doing.
A LOT of people weren't happy with how Sailor Moon was translated, so I'm not surprised to hear Takeuchi-sensei had those feelings nor surprised at their ethics as an employer/publisher.
TokyoPop in a lot of ways reminds of the debacle with ADV and how they died their inevitable death due to being managed by people who....let's just say some are pretty shady individuals bordering on creeper levels.
