This. OP says he's not crazy, but it also sounds like they're trying to excuse his behavior because of love. They also admit to being afraid of him and include details about violent and seriously unstable and troubling behavior. All of those things are red flags, and it sounds like a big part of the OP already realizes this relationship is not healthy in any way, shape or form, and that they need to leave it.
