I don't understand why movies with an almost entirely male cast, male protagonist, and marketed towards men ... is expected to be a successful film, or executives don't worry about drawing women to it. But a movie with a primarily female cast, OR just a female protagonist, OR marketed towards women ... is expected to fail and executives worry about getting men and boys to see it. Do women not go to movies? Do Hollywood executives think women are required by law to be accompanied by a male relative to the theater?
