He is. I mean, he's not actively hating on women, but basically, women are just another species in his world that he's okay with not knowing.

I'm with you, OP. I used to really like him but he let it all go to his head. Rather than "thank you," you get the feeling he just says "Yes" when someone compliments him - and he's so closed-minded for someone so intelligent. Plus the misogyny. He's just too full of himself for me.

Is this a repeat? I feel like this was done already. Either that or its a secret that is worded almost the same. I don't know if I'm remembering correctly, it's a few weeks ago since the last one.

Anyway OP, I know you're far from alone. My mum can't stand him for example.

I feel like we've had at least four other secrets like this over the past six months or so. I could also very well be wrong, but you are far from alone in this opinion.

Personally, I know next to nothing about him so...no opinion. If he is...that's a serious shame.

I've only followed F!S for a few days now, didn't know this kind of secret was common. Guess I'm glad I'm not the only one with my impression of Fry though... I'm not active in any kind of fandom but my friends tend to praise him on tumblr constantly.

Did you see his episode of "Who Do you Think You Are?" It was incredibly moving, his family lost a lot of people in the concentration camps. I know he's not perfect, but he has his own issues and I think he's done pretty well, considering some of his baggage and his bipolar. I think calling him a crappy person is a bit extreme.

Pretty humble? Depends where you see him. In QI, he acts like an unrepentant smug git, and in his first autobiography comes off fairly smug too (especially when talking about test results from school etc).

I like him, but his 'I'm always right' attitude can get grating, especially on topics he has a conservative bias towards and no firsthand experience in. He's a man, but he somehow thinks he is the unquestionable voice on female sexuality (or, in his case, our lack of it in comparison to men)? Please.

I pretty much agree. I mean, he can be funny and interesting and I love watching old A Bit of Fry and Laurie episodes. But, on the whole he's not someone I would want to know.

I'm a feminist, but I really think that sometimes people throw around the word "misogyny" a little too easily. Does anyone seriously think he hates women? I haven't seen any reason to yet, but I'm willing to be convinced.
