(Anonymous) 2012-07-15 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)That is I have all the training (okay the same course compressed into a fraction of the time - but we have exactly the same tests we have to pass), rights and responsibilities of a real officer, and am attached to a real team who's numbers I bolster on my days off.
My government had the brilliant idea that they could cut external recruitment, and only hire on volunteers who've made status (that is demonstrate a wide number of competencies, which takes around six months) - even once you've made status you have to go through the whole recruitment process though, of which there are very few and they're very competitive.
I've made status, and going through the process now. I'm not going to lie, I'm all kinds of nervous.
