That thread for customer service bitching yesterday has gotten me curious.

I'm guessing it's going to be like 95% College/education, retail, and IT, but still.

I don't have one right this moment, but come August I will be working in the Writing Center on my campus as a tutor. It's not much (about ten hours a week) but it's still 8.50 an hour for doing something I enjoy and I won't have to use any gas money since I live on campus and it's only a five minute walk. Plus, it looks good and maybe I'll make new friends

Seamstress/bookkeeper. I also do some housekeeping and temp as a hired hand on local ranches. I am in the process of enlisting in the Marines though.

I have worked in the food service industry before though and let me tell you that experience is not something I'd be happy to repeat.

Unemployed rn - looking for work as a bookkeeper or similar admin/beancounting stuff. For the last couple of years I've been getting by working retail and doing seasonal tax prep, but I just moved to somewhere much bigger so I'm hoping I can get a job that lets me move numbers around all year long.

I work two jobs right now!

I have a part-time job as a post office counter clerk and I work casual/ad-hoc hours as an administration assistant in the same village. It can be tiring when everyone wants/needs you, but I love both my jobs.

My 'real job' is petty bullshit, but I'm a volunteer cop, and I'm trying to make it my career.

That is I have all the training (okay the same course compressed into a fraction of the time - but we have exactly the same tests we have to pass), rights and responsibilities of a real officer, and am attached to a real team who's numbers I bolster on my days off.

My government had the brilliant idea that they could cut external recruitment, and only hire on volunteers who've made status (that is demonstrate a wide number of competencies, which takes around six months) - even once you've made status you have to go through the whole recruitment process though, of which there are very few and they're very competitive.

I've made status, and going through the process now. I'm not going to lie, I'm all kinds of nervous.

I do a lot of odd jobs - it really depends on the location, since I travel a lot. Most of the time I'm a waiter (because every place on earth has a cafe or a restaurant), sometimes I sell my own art. On special occasions I do burlesque, but that's only once or twice a year.

Full time college student (studying film studies), but I also work at my university's call center, asking alumni for money. It's not the most fun, but hey, it's a job.

I work at a medical device company. I am the person who randomly pulls one or two pieces off the assembly line and test it to make sure everything is working properly. There's a lot of paperwork involved.

Currently a student in English, for one last year to get the exam that'll allow me to be a better paid teacher (hopefully!), and start my thesis.

(Technically, I passed the exam that allows me to become a teacher, but in my country, we have two different exams with varying levels of difficulty for the same job. First one= 18 hours of actual teaching/a week, mainly middle school, second one= 15 hours/a week, mainly high school and college. I passed the first one this year.)
