'ship what you want, I don't agree but it's okay', and yet you still say you can understand and agree that it's okay that people bitch about it? I don't care what kind of logic or non-logic is applied to the ship, that means nothing in this context. So many things are shipped completely against logic, the 'Tony would never! Just use ur brain!'...I just can't, you or anyone else that uses this logic just sounds like an ass. 'I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS SHIP!!!!1 LISTEN TO ME!!!1'


and I say this as someone who does not ship Tony/Loki at all in any way, shape, or form, movie/comic/au/whatever. This ship does nothing for me, so I find this even more comical.

I also lol at these complaints because some people really just love villains and/or tragic characters and ship them with heroes/etc....how is this new?

Other than Magneto/Prof X, maybe idk Superman/Lex Luthor, who else is shipped with a supervillain? I don't see anyone shipping Reed/Dr. Doom, Peter/Norman Osborn, Steve/Red Skull, etc.

I've seen fic for all of those. The pairings aren't huge but the fic is there. Also what do you mean maybe? Clex is huge. If you're only looking for supervillian examples and not just villains in general I point you towards Batman/Joker, Batman/Catwoman, Batman/Two Face.

For the Marvel characters, I'm not talking about non-con though I could see Doom and Reed having some hate sex

And I put maybe because I wasn't sure how much of that shipping is from Smallville or from the comics proper. Catwoman is in a place by herself since how 'bad' she is just depends on who's writing her. I'll be honest- I haven't touched a DC Comic since they ruined Cassandra Cain. But the Joker thing has me side-eying- I'm sure it exists, but I wonder how much of it was due to the movie.

For the Marvel I've seen some non-con, some dub, and some straight up relationshippy stuff.

When I was into Clex I didn't have much taste for Smallville and I didn't seem to have a hard time finding fic.

As for the Joker thing I can't really tell you as I tend to back click or skip based on summaries as I'm really particular about his characterization but I've definitely seen a sizable amount.

And if you stretch the definition to just villains well, you don't have to look any further than HP where the baddies definitely get their share of loving.

Pretty much wherever there be villains there be fangirls excusing or fetishizing their behavior and writing about their sexy times.

First off, Harry Potter is the fantasy genre, not the superhero genre so it doesn't have any place in the discussion.

Next- If you want me to believe that there's relationshippy stuff for Steve/Red Skull and Peter/Norman, you're going to have to provide some links as evidence.

Non-Smallville Superman/Lex Luthor I don't have any trouble believing, but non-DK Batman/Joker relationshippy stuff is seriously unbelievable- the Joker killed Jason and put Barbara in a wheelchair.

I kind of said that HP was a stretch in my comment just that it's pretty much dominated by this trope.

Ah, I did not mean to include Steve/Red Skull. I should have made that distinction. And like I said I don't really read those pairings just that I recall seeing them and to be fair I don't recall seeing anything that looked good.

So I'm not allowed to complain when one of my favorite characters is being written wildly out of character? No one's said you shouldn't be allowed to ship to Tony/Loki here, they're just explaining why they personally don't like the ship. Ships are allowed to be criticized you know.

Dude, there are hordes of Tony/Steve fic that are wildly out of character and that's a pairing you will read. Why bother with pairings you won't even touch?
