I agree, OP. I was mostly indifferent toward him, but mildly enjoyed him, but at all the hate I see fandom giving him - mostly feels like SJW "look how much we hate a man!" hate, tbh - I feel weirdly defensive of him. What kills me is the saying that he's "out of character" when he's being goofy, like the episode when he got with Asami... um, what? he'd only been on for like three episodes prior, pretty sure the fans don't get to decide what's in character now.

I used to occasionally check out fandom on ontd_lok, but the community literally has a background of Mako with an ass for a face. yup. that about sums up the fandom for me.
