It's not like I really do hate Mako. It's just what care I had for this series as a whole has turned into sheer loathing due to shitty writing obviously pandering to a ship-crazy batshit-insane fandom. Mako was just the cherry on top as a failure of a character.

Bryke said that anyone thinking that the romance was for 'the shippers' are wrong. They love 'love triangles' and they love sappy romances. Mako/Asami/Korra triangle was what they wanted to write.
