I want to be a VA too, OP. I even took a class about how to get into the business. Try looking around for these classes at community colleges, or special schools that will give you training.

I definitely agree with some of the helpful advice in this thread. You should start trying to pursue this part-time. You should try joining a group or club for amateurs. Fine tune your unique voices and then when you're ready record them to a cd for your demo reel. The jobs are out there if you look (even on Craigs List), and there's a variety of different paid gigs.

It also takes determination and passion, of course. Good luck!
