That is seriously the best thing I've heard in a long time. I might start doing that omg.

Rats are pretty clever, crafty little fuckers. Not sure where they got their reputation. Seems weird.

I have a theory that once Peter got over being crestfallen about his Animagus form not being charismatic megafauna, he learned to enjoy the amazing things he could do as a rat. Rats can gnaw through just about everything, squeeze through a hole the size of a dime, climb any vertical surface that's just a bit rough, jump a yard in the air, swim for a half mile in open water, fall 50 feet without hurting themselves, and eat practically anything organic. And of course, Peter could disappear and hide in plain sight for twelve years.

Actually, Peter would've been the ideal Secret-Keeper if it weren't for the teensy-weensy detail that he was working for Voldemort.

I REMEMBER THAT EXACT FANART. It was by...hang on, the artist's name will come to me...T-something. It started with a T. She was one of my faves back when I was on a massive Harry Potter spree. Help me out people!

It's Makani. I used to print out her stuff and stick in my school binders back in high school. Good times. <3

Oh fuck yes. Why did I think her name started with a T? My brain is insane.

Anyway YES god I love her work so much...

IDK, maybe you were thinking of another HP fan artist popular at the time?

I remember I used to really love Tealin/Twirlynoodle's stuff as well. Still love it actually.

Nah, I knew it was definitely Makani — I could even picture what her webpage looked like. But now I'm gonna go check out Tealin/Twirlynoodle, thanks ;)

rats are actually a lot different than they are perceived. which kind of saddens me, although i don't know why, because it's not like they care (except for being screamed at, stomped on, and killed all the time). anyway my family has a pet rat and she is incredibly sweet and clever. no matter where we play with her at (outside, other people's houses), she always comes back to you and climbs on your shoulder to take her home.

I remember reading a long time ago (although Konrad Lorenz isn't the most trustworthy source) that rats are actually very caring, affectionate and protective within their family groups.

DA

My rat decided the best thing he could do today was lick my nose, which I definitely took as a sign of affection. :)
