Oh yeah, no, I totally get your point. I don't even like him that much, it's just that my roommate, me, and some of our friends went to go see the movie again this afternoon, and my roommate's friend was going on and on about how that one line was like the worst line she'd ever heard in any movie ever. She was going on and on and on about it, and I was just sick of it and decided to fuck with her for the rest of the evening.

The phrase was just on my mind and it was the first "un-PC" thing I could think of.

I've seen something similiar where someone said it was racist that white people weren't allowed to use racial slurs against black people when they could use them themselves. Not racist for white people to use racial slurs.

I had written up a whole response that I ended up being too exhausted to post because I didn't want to get further into it, but you managed to mostly distill what I was going to say, so.

I do also want to say, though, OP, that I am genuinely, actually sorry that you've lost your enjoyment of fandom. What I most like about the increased awareness and sensitivity to certain issues is that it's made wading into new fandoms a lot more comfortable for me.

it's to bad that genuine awareness and sensitivity, has been replaced with dogpiling, bullying, and being offended to the point of complete and utter lunacy.

Some of the best fics, and the best writing, is the stuff that makes us think, and feel, be it good or bad emotions.

If everything was PC, tokenism, and 'safe' then fic and writing would be the most bland activity in the world.

I say this as a very gay POC, who is sick of watching fandom fic writers, walk on eggshells.
