But didn't the old purebloods (mostly Slytherins) have problems with werewolves and half-giants as well? And we all know Loki is a pygmy frost giant at least part giant, which I'm hard pressed to think sits will with the Slytherins.

From what I recall werewolves are "cursed" but they were down with most magical creatures participating in their society as long as there wasn't any intermarriage.

And well, Voldemort was half muggle so I'm thinking that like him Loki's megalomaniac tendencies will buy him a lot of cred.

Didn't Dumbledore hide Lupin's werewolf status to allow him to attend Hogwarts? Also, I'm pretty sure Lupin had a difficult time holding down jobs in canon. It became worse after him being a werewolf was made public. IMO that's pretty blatant discrimination.

Voldemort was megalomaniac but he was also charismatic and willing to play nice with the purebloods to garner their support and loyalty. Plus, he took great pains to hid his muggle ancestry. Loki is megalomaniac but he doesn't cut his potential allies or his enemies any slack. He delights in antagonizing everyone for fun and because he can do WHATEVER HE WANTS.

Somehow I don't think Slytherins will treat Loki the same way they treated Voldemort.

I thought the werewolf thing was because it was considered a curse and not actually an heritage. I agree strongly that it was discrimination. I'm just saying there didn't seem to be much issue with other magical species, for example Veela. Of course though they didn't seem to be a big fan of inter-species marriage and treated a lot of the races as less such as House Elves or Goblins... I'm not even sure what I'm arguing anymore actually. I guess Death Eater discrimination is Muggles < Magical Creatures?

Loki is also called Silvertongue for a reason so if he really, really wanted to be Death Eater King I wouldn't put it past him.

I think Loki is a natural prankster and this doesn't help build trust most times. It is not impossible for him to become the Death Eater King. He has the skills. But he'd really have to work to keep up the charade for years and not let his attention-seeking needs blow his cover prematurely.
