Imagine the Doctor taking the time to do a proper build on a chair. It'd teleport and hover have repulsor beams and a force shield capable of resisting anything from a light rain to hard vacuum to thousands of pressures of atmosphere and holographic displays and universal roaming wifi. And it'd have a working chameleon circuit so it could disguise itself as whatever suited the region or era it was in. You co to the Middle Ages, you're riding a fucking horse.
