I saw a single clip of this show - when they were singing Staying Alive while performing CPR - wasn't there talk about it being canceled? Because I can totally see why it would be.

No, that is actually a thing people do. Stayin' Alive has 103 beats per minute, which is pretty much perfect for maintaining the best rhythm for CPR. An even less appropriate but still effective song choice would be Another One Bites the Dust by Queen.
