Most of the racial descriptions in the book were pretty damn vague, if you ask me. 'Olive-skinned' could mean pretty much anything, as could 'tan'. The problem is when those roles are specifically cast with only white actors in mind because Hollywood believes white to be the default race, unless otherwise specified. The world of the books, as described by the AUTHOR, is multiracial so I think it blows that the majority of the cast is white.

Jennifer Lawrence did an excellent job as Katniss but that doesn't maker her casting any less controversial, as only white actresses were brought in to audition for the role.
