I ship Tom from (500) Days of Summer and Bliss from Whip It. I first started to ship it because it's Joseph Gordon Levitt and Ellen Page, and I ship their characters (Arthur and Ariadne) in Inception, and I started to find Tom/Bliss gifsets. But I honestly began to ship it.

Recently I watched the movies fairly close together, and the two of them would work well together, and their stories match up surprisingly well. Both have romantic interests that, for reasons, don't work out (though the romance is MUCH bigger in (500) Days of Summer as opposed to Whip It). Both are initially stuck doing things they hate (Tom writing greeting cards, Bliss doing pageants) and both want to break out to find their dreams (Tom to become an architect, Bliss through roller derby).

While Bliss is stuck in a small town in Texas, ultimately she's not really satisfied staying at home. At the end of (500) Days of Summer, Tom finally gets over Summer and meets "Autumn," a sign he's moved on. In my headcanon, instead of meeting Autumn, Bliss is who he finds once he's moved on from Summer. So really, the ending bit of the movie still makes sense.

...and this is me, way overthinking this crossover pairing that I ship way too hard.

haha! If you want a ship where you get into something that is both ridiculous and adorable as a ship, but has zero recent fanworks, it's a good ship. There's a small amount of fic/manips on Tumblr (under the 500 Days of Bliss and the Tom x Bliss tags) that make it really easy to ship the two of them, but then there hasn't been anything new in a REALLY long time.

...but I still ship it really hard.

Apparently the only way I can draw anything is when I'm supposed to be working on something else. ... so now there's a little more TomxBliss in the world?

ahh, oh my goodness, that seriously made my night, thank you! =D Procrastination is an excellent motivator for everything except what you're procrasinating on.

(apparently the only way I can draw anything is if the thing I'm drawing is a girl in a bikini, is what I found out today)
