7. Precisely the reason that fanfiction pisses me off. Things that were acceptable before fanfiction came along are now oh so horrible and should never be written ever again. Same with taking advanced english classes. You can no longer read anything without picking it apart. :\

Tell me about it. I only took English 231, and I honestly can barely write anymore. I have had to train myself back into writing anything but simple "subject + verb"-type sentences. Why? Because my professor was a pretentious bitch and thought that anything more was a run-on. Even when I SHOWED here where I had properly connected the two sentences together (even via textbook) and how they could not exist independently. She would have none of that. >>'

Wow! Your English professor is quite obviously an idiot. If she will not accept anything other than simple sentences, she is a fool. That'd give you a 3.5 on Kincaid level or something? EW. I think your Prof. needs to go back to school herself.

Oh, indeed she did. She'd also accept compound or complex sentences, but heaven forbid you give her a compound-complex sentence. CLEARLY, it was a run-on.

That, however, was only one of her many shortcomings. She also believed that even though over half of her class failed to comprehend something it was not her responsibility to teach it to us. Our previous professors had clearly not done their jobs and it was not her job to correct anything; teaching us things that were not explicitly in the syllabus was simply not something she could bother with.

Getting that semester over was the happiest college-related moment of my life.

But I've gone off on a rant. ^^' Whoops~
