You're seriously surprised that THE BEATLES fandom is living in the past? I mean, seriously?

I've been part of Beatles comms on and off for over ten years online. I made some wonderful friends. There are great fandoms out there for them. Yahoo Groups has some worthwhile communities.

You say "Where is the fandom?!" AND THEN YOU DESCRIBE THE FANDOM. I think you just answered your own question. It just so happens you don't actually like any of the communities.

Actually, there is a fandom for them...you just will not find it on the internet because most of those that still write Beatles fic and the like, are in my age group or older (50+) and do so with stories written on actual paper, that are passed from person to person or in zines. *s*

You just need to know where to find your audience.

Are you looking for slash or just gen? I don't know about just gen, but the JohnHeartPaul lj is still very active. It's slash, but there's a lot of really good discussions that aren't slash or crazy "OMGTHEYWERESOGAY!". I'm not a slash fan, but I don't have any trouble there. A lot of it is the friendship between John and Paul, and exploring the dynamics of it.
There's also quite a bit of recent news of Paul and Ringo, but also just anything that pops up that's Beatle-related. And they might be able to direct you to more gen fandom areas.
Don't get creeped out by the slash aspect. They're a great bunch.

Look up selenak. She has a bunch of great posts on them and has written a lot of fanfic. She's posted recs sometimes in the comments if you want to look for more.

Well, there's the beatlesslash comm on LJ. Dunno if you want slash, but it's fairly active. Exclusive only because it got trolled so much. If your journal is over a month old you can easily get in...

JohnHeartPaul on LJ is a Paul McCartney fangirl site. If "Paul is the greatest [insert noun here] and John was an insensitive, fucked-up bastard" is your cuppa, then you'll enjoy JHP. Oh, and you have to like mostly shitty slash fanfics and pompous, know-it-all twats too.

BeatleSlash is much more balanced but pretty quiet. Beatlelinks.net is OK and not slash.
