but...why? Lady Loki would have been just as whiny as Dude Loki. The only difference is that there would probably be more Loki bashing in fandom (sure, there would probably be a few other people who prefer Loki portrayed by a woman in the movie, but a lot more people would have disliked the character even if they were the exact same aside from the gender change)

That's sad. The Avengers fandom actually seems more female friendly than some other fandoms I've seen, so I wonder if a female Loki would be bashed more? It's interesting to think about. Would there be less shipping fic featuring Loki because het isn't a big part of the fandom? Maybe femslash with Black Widow would have a big following?

Just because I really like this character trope, but I like it so much more when they're female. There's nothing very deep about it, lol.
