Re: I just really really need to vent
(Anonymous) 2012-07-19 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)My grandfather died maybe six years ago. He was sick, and we knew it was just a matter of time. I, too, only saw him once or twice a year, and he was a nice man, but... honestly, I didn't feel much when he died.
I got a bit teary-eyed when my father gave a eulogy, but I think that was because my father, who isn't really the touchy-feely type, said more emotional things than I'd ever heard him say before. Other than that, I didn't cry at all. I felt no need to cry.
Long story short, when you're not really close to someone, it's hard to mourn them the way others do. It doesn't make you a bad person.
