Holy shit you've had to run away from coyotes? I don't envy you. Are you at least allowed to shoot the ones going after humans? I imagine if they're that big and numerous and they're starting to see humans as food, the local predator/prey system must be very skewed and screwd up.

I know. That surprised me too. When I was little I would see them all the time when I went out to feed the goats. There was a mother who would bring her babies to our watering trough and I would see them and walk right past them almost every morning. Ours were very small though. The only worry we had was for the chickens.

Yep we are allowed to shoot them. Unfortunately, I don't have a gun :<

And yeah the local ecosystem is hugely fucked. The amount of deer around here is pretty staggering, too. A few years back, the state let people hunt der for a few months out of season to cull them. Hence, the coyotes could find plenty of food. And breed a lot.
