This is stupid. I can't find my city's animal bylaw because it ceased to exist when the city became a part of Toronto 10+ years ago. I looked at several surrounding city's bylaws and they state "livestock prohibited" without saying why. Ugh.

This seem to be the best account of the reason for City of Toronto's bylaw change back in '83. It is biased as hell and I've no idea how accurate it is. It is also a giant wall of text. Sorry. :(
