They are responsible for the vast, VAST majority of the most harmful kinds of rape and abuse that exists in this world. They are responsible for the specific horrible abuse that we are actually talking about in this thread, and we're supposed to stop and think about how /They/ feel about it? How it affects them? FUCK. THAT

I read a comment about how men's origin stories never include sexual assault as a motivational aspect and it made me think about the positive effect that could have on both male and female survivors. Which made me realize that there is a different story to be told considering the topic which just makes the fact that they're doing yet another "woman motivated by sexual assault" trope all that more tired and frustrating. Let's be honest the idea that rape happens to "other" people for "reasons" that don't apply to "most people" is one of the biggest problems we have in opening dialogues about it.
I also fail to see how men being "vastly" responsible for rape and abuse means that I can't feel sympathetic and concerned for those who suffer from it. I never said women were responsible to provide support and resources or consider how rape effects men. In fact considering that most comic book authors are men I was expressing shame that men aren't taking advantage of a great resource to help male (and ostensibly female) rape victims.
And if you could point out where I trivialized anything please let me know.

Men are raped and sexually assaulted much more often than people believe, and so many are afraid to admit it and try to get help because of people like you. Rape is devastating no matter what gender the victim is. So kindly, fuck right off.
