1. Jackie chan Adventures rocks! And I think I was fifteen when I first saw it.

13. I feel your pain. D: Me, I've written one OP Ship manifesto so far - which was difficult enough even though I had a bit more screentime to work with than you would with Ben/Shanks - and now I sort of curse at the rest of the pairings I want to write manifestos for, because there just isn't enough canon for an entire essay.

23. Who doesn't like Discworld better?
Well, okay, I suppose there could be people who don't Pterry's kind of fantasy, but, um. Anyway.

Hell, I kind of wanted to do a Fullbody/Jango one, too. And like, Johnny/Yosaku, and-- you know all of the pairs of people? All of them. The Dynamic Duo sorts. I have considered doing manifestos for all of them. (And now that I finally found a pairing to write a manifesto for, it's not even from OP. ARGH.)

(Bet you know who I am, by the way. XD)

Ooohh, yes, the dynamic duos, gah. They're the most frustrating because they're so easy to see (honestly, they're like insta-ships; just add sex) yet there's so little essay material.

:D I have my really quite strong suspicions, yeah. I'm not going to make any guesses though, so you can keep your anonymity.

I tried getting into Discworld, I really did, but I can't stand most of what he writes. I barely got through The Hogfather (which was only good because of Death), but Mort and Reaper Man were great. I started Jingo but it bored me to tears. Most of the time I just find his style superfluous and not funny. :/

Somehow, I can see why you might feel that way, though I myself love his writing (which is not to say I think it's perfect, of course). Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Incidentally, do you prefer HP or were you just commenting because of my gross generalization?

[identity profile] yummycoffee.livejournal.com 2007-07-27 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I like HP too, but I dunno...I can't compare the two. Both Mort and Reaper Man I couldn't put down when I first began them, same with all of HP. So in terms of a a page turner, I think they both win (though HP has 6 books to 2 of Discworld). :) So yeah, it was more on the generalization side, haha.

It just bugs me cause I see all this awesome fanart for the monstrous regiment and Lord Vetinari/Drumknott, but I just can't stand to read it. T_T
