Re: People with jobs
The unfortunate downside to having a work ethic (and the inability to say no when your boss asks you to do something) is that they just keep giving you more things to do!
It goes against my internal workings to do a piss poor job so that she doesn't ask me to do anymore side projects (on top of the regular work that everyone else and myself does), so of course I do a good job, which just lands me more 'projects'. ¬.¬;;
Re: People with jobs
I'm a full-time temp right now (meaning I work 40 hours a week but only have a one-year contract with the company I'm at), and this is my second year with this particular company (they have a rule where you can only work for a year, then you have to leave for six months, then you can come back for a year, rinse, repeat), so I have a real handle on the job by now. To the point where, even though I'm still a temp, they have me train other temps, summer interns, and even the permanent employees that are supposed to be my supervisors, on various tasks. If it weren't for having to train people, I'd feel like I was being paid enough, but for all the aggravation they're putting me through, and the insult I feel at being kept a temp and having to train PERMANENT hires (who are then called the "lead" on whatever I just taught them)... It's frustrating. Very frustrating.
