(Anonymous) 2012-07-24 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)And it hurts a lot when it happens in the tens or twenties chapters, so it hits once you're invested! At least if it happens in the first few chapters, you can bail out more peacefully.
For some, I try to shoulder on, but most of the time I just leave. There are a few that had me curious about how they would end, so I give them a few months to check back on new updates and skim through them to see what happened to the characters.
Sometimes I do tell the author, and they're mostly all neutralish "sorry you didn't like it".
