I've been without air conditioning in my house since Saturday and it's been over 95 degrees every day this week (feels hotter because it decided to get humid this summer). It took my landlord until TODAY to get an HVAC person over here to even look at the A/C and they say that the compressor's out and they have to ORDER a new one

A friend of mine's apartment has no HVAC and when her 40-year-old A/C broke and the apartment took forever to replace it (they tried to fix it first, nevermind that it's 40 years old and a piece of shit.)

Someone at work told me that in the state of Texas, at least for apartment renters (she didn't know about house rentals like mine) that the landlord is obligated to put you up in a hotel if your A/C breaks... so I need to find my lease agreement. I don't like how the landlord was dragging her feet about this. In Austin A/C is pretty much a necessity in the summertime.

I mean, at least they finally got someone over here. There was supposed to be somebody yesterday, but no one came. Turns out it's the compressor that went out but we're waiting on a new part to come in and who knows how long that will be.

Your in Texas? I'm in San Marcos, and the heat has been horrible. I've been keeping my A/C at 69 just to be remotely comfortable.

I'm so sorry you don't have A/C. That totally sucks. The A/C at the place I have been working at doesn't work, and it is horrible. I can't imagine having to sleep without A/C.

Blah that sucks! I'm here in San Antonio & the heat has been killer! my A/C went out on my truck & I need to get it fixed since I'm always on the road for work!

I know how you feel. It was 102 degrees outside today (trending between 90-100) and my AC is busted. I went and bought a window unit. It looks pretty cheap but it does the trick. You can't go through summer with no AC in Fla. I thought I'd motherfucking DIE without it.
