My headcanon is that Snape died a virgin and no one can convince me otherwise.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
my headcanon is that Snape had a collection of Lily's hair (from a shrine he had dedicated to her throughout his years as a student in hogwarts) and he used them to make polyjuice potions and he would pay hookers to drink it and either fuck him or just hold him and tell him how much they love him. .

because Snape is apparently the most depressing creeper ever in my headcanon (and probably in regular canon too)

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
and then he obliviated the hookers and recognized that lockhart was very good at that spell because of his own past experience using it but there was just so much to hate about lockhart that that was just one more straw to the pile

Except don't the people you're polyjuicing have to still be alive? I thought that's why Barty Crouch Jr. kept Madeye alive over that whole year...?

He kept him alive because he needed a steady supply of hair for a whole year, which means a few hairs every hour he was awake (which is... a lot... quick calculation = ~30000 hours). If Snape had a clump of her hair for whatever reason, he could get quick a few... er... I suppose the only word for this is rape... in any case, he could have his way a fair few times without needing her alive.

Do the hairs need to be "fresh"? Because he could have just shaved Moody and stored all that hair if that was the case. Unless Moody simply didn't have that much hair or hey convenient plot what is the deal with GoF anyway.

I honestly just skimmed the following books; I only read up to GoF first (this was back when OoTP was about to come out); years later I absorbed the rest through the movies, fanfiction and various wikis, and then when I tried to read the last three books I sort of lose steam after a few chapters. So I get you. :(

He was probably thinking "better safe than sorry" and since it wasn't a problem keeping him in the trunk, it was better to have a constant supply than a constantly diminishing one. It's smart, really. He didn't know about the curse on the DADA position so he was possibly planning for more than a year's worth of the potion, just in case.

!

This is brilliant. In fact, this was probably the real reason.

Barty lost his cover because he got too carried away with "oh em gee my master is back~" and also forgot to take his potion, but if he had played it smart he could have continued playing Moody and if he was clever about covering his tracks, he might have even started spying on Dumbledore when he got the Order together again.

You keep on clearing plot mysteries like this anon. Keep on.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
I hadn't even thought of the possibility of him becoming a spy after that year! That's such a good point. I was also thinking that, with Moody alive, Barty could force-feed him Veritaserum and get personal info to keep up the act over the course of the year. With Moody dead, he'd have a much harder time keeping up appearances.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, is this a plot-bunny I'm seeing? Because I think this is totally a plot-bunny.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
also no barty/moody foeyay if moody dead

He might have had plans to only teach one year and use Moody's well-known paranoia as an excuse to jump ship before the curse hit. vov

Or maybe he thought it was just a coincidence and a rumor, like many people did. I mean, the guy wasn't very sane, so who knows what went through his mind regarding his worship of Voldemort and the rumors surrounding the man's actions.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Fuck, do they really? I haven't read Goblet of Fire in so long

NOOOOOOO MY CREEPY SNAPE HEADCANON IS FALLING APART

MAYBE HE'S SUCH A GOOD POTIONS MASTER THAT HIS POLYJUICE IS JUST...SPECIAL...IDK

(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
That really is the most depressing thing I've read about a fictional character in a while
