Re: bad deviantart comments
(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 02:11 am (UTC)(link)I should also add that the owners of the site are not paragons of maturity themselves either, and that the moderators and staff that want to and actually do their job well are often obstructed by the way the site works and burn out very quickly.
Re: bad deviantart comments
(Anonymous) 2012-07-26 02:13 am (UTC)(link)There has also been controversy over their porn rule; porn isn't admitted, only "tasteful/artistic nudity", but some of the staff turn a blind eye to it if they like it.
And there is more, but that's what came to mind right away.
What I'm trying to say, is that how the people high up behave reflects very heavily on their userbase. If the mods actually moderated properly, you wouldn't have so much of what you see on that tumblr. (But of course, if they moderated properly they would have to ban people and ~offend their sensibilities how dare you you elitist bluh bluh bluh~ and then they wouldn't have so many people signing up and giving them their money, so...)
