I can't see Natasha voting for the Republicans, not just because she's a woman, but also because she's a foreigner. I'd never vote for a party who has a thing against immigrants, wherever they might come from

Where I live, there's one really right-wing, xenophobic party, which disgustingly tries to get votes from immigrants by pitting them against each other. (Most of our "unwanted" immigrants are from Serbia and Turkey. I think that the numbers pale to the number of German immigrants, but those apparently are okay. And before you ask, yes, I'm an "unwanted" one myself, though not from the countries mentioned above.)

I was absolutely shocked to find out some of my friends vote for them, which I took VERY personally. And sure, they were all, "Oh, but you're not one of them. You're okay. It's just all the other people." Gee, thanks. That sure erases all the xenophobia I face in my life. When I get bullied on the bus, I'll just say, "Hey, my friends think I'm not one of them!"
