One character literally gave up everything else in his life to be with the other, even though it may just be for a short time. They know each other better than anyone else. They tease each other and get mad at each other and still stand by each other when they need to.

Awww, I think I know what this is, and it still gives me warm fuzzy feelings thinking about it. I choose to remain in denial about the potentially sad aspect.

Sounds a lot like my OTP (old-ish video game fandom). Sweet kinda vibe, isn't it? :)
