Inspired by the awesome "how long does it take you to get off?" thread, how do you masturbate? especially interested in hearing from ladies/transguys because I have a hard time getting off and so some pointers certainly wouldn't go amiss. Interested in everything to do with masturbation. Do you use toys/what kind, hands only, clit only, or whatever. I know it varies for everyone, but I'd love to have a large selection of things to try... I figure at least one of them will work. Straight girl here. Usually I just use my fingers, since I like heavy clit stimulation, occasionally I'll pull a vibe or dildo to switch it up. I have to be careful though, because I tend to squeeze when I get close and it kinda "shoots" the dildo out - and explaining just HOW I broke the lamp, picture, etc would be AWKWARD. :P I like porn when I have access to it, but usually it's just head fantasies.

Hitachi Magic Wand vibrator on the low setting. My fave position is straddling a bolster with the head of the vibrator between me & the pillow, basically humping it. If I'm feeling a little dry, I'l put a dab of lube on the vibrator. Sometimes I'll use a dildo, too, but not always. Verrrry occasionally I'll read erotica, but I tend to close my eyes when I get close, so it's not always helpful. I used to have a go-to fantasy that was basically a teacher/student thing, but I think I wore it out; now if I do any sort of mental boost, I'll replay one of my better sessions with the current SO. For myself, I have to be in a mood, a kind of "I need to watch people fuck" kind of a mood. So I'll go somewhere online that ends with "-tube", select a favorite kink or whatever and watch some. Generally I slide down on the couch and stick my hand down my pants, sort of getting the lay of the land, rubbing over my clit, etc. The stimulation along with the visuals are enough to get me where I need to be in about fifteen or twenty minutes. Depending on my hurry, I'll either keep varying pressure on my clit until the inevitable end, or I'll back off a few times, rubbing gently to keep myself on edge, and then harder, softer. If I do it right, which I don't every time, the orgasm is VERRA, VERRA GOOD once I get there. If I go too long like that, the orgasm is...er...*cough*...anti-climatic, so there's a fine line.

I never really need a vibrator, my fingers seem to do the trick, but I do have one for those times when I want two orgasms in one day. I mostly read erotica to masturbate. Sometimes I just use my imagination - especially if it's some hot idea that's driven me to go masturbate. Sometimes I watch porn. Erotica is mostly terrible and porn is all terrible, ugh. I usually can't make it happen with fanfic, because reading about familiar characters is usually unsexy for me; I might use fandom characters in my fantasies though.

I get off by rubbing the area just under my clit - like, between my clit and my vagina - either with my fingers or with a vibrator. There's a whole lot of other stuff I like do to stimulate myself, though. Sometimes I like anal toys, sometimes I like self-bondage (nothing fancier than tying my legs together), I sometimes like nipple stimulation...uh, the weirdest thing I ever do when masturbating is putting an icecube in each side of my bra. I don't do that often but it's really great sometimes.

Straight woman. All of the above. But I get off pretty easily. I generally either focus on a particular fantasy or look at porn. That gets me mostly there, and then it just takes a bit to push me over.

Strangely enough, vibrators don't seem to work for me. I stick to other toys or my fingers.

Time of day can effect how long it takes. The best time for me is at night before bed (also makes it easier to go to sleep).

Oh, and I don't do anything with my breasts because they aren't remotely sensitive.

I'm FTM, I only use my hands and I only touch my clit most of the time. If I'm in the mood I will also touch my breasts and nipples but only through a t-shirt because my nipples are very sensitive. Sometimes, especially when I'm taking a shower, I will do some anal play. That's it for the physical side of it.
For the head side of it, I have numerous sexual fantasies which mostly involve me being a guy having sex with a guy, I switch perspectives from top to bottom although I prefer being top 95% of the time.
Some tips:
+ Experiment. Don't think about what you would or wouldn't like, give it a try. It took me 25 years of masturbating to find out that I do like to touch my breasts, and it helps making me come, as long as I touch them through some (thin) fabric.
+ Take a shower or, even better, a bath. The heat will make it easier to get all hot and bothered. (A hot water bottle on your lady parts will also do the trick.)

+ Don't be afraid of your fantasies, or other people's fantasies. Use whatever turns you on.
