[ Anon Meme ]
Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.
Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.
That's about it, though!
I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff.

Re: Demisexual
(Anonymous) 2012-07-31 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)As someone who was part of the asexual community at one point, I just have this to say:
There are people who are asexual. No doubt about it. It's a thing that exists. Same for aromantics.
Asexuality, like other orientations, is a spectrum, and the degree to which someone is asexual varies from person to person. So it makes sense that you'd also get people who fall in the "gray" area on the spectrum, between being "sexual" and "asexual".
However - I think the amount of labels has become a bit annoying at this point. I can see how they'd be beneficial to some people, but for me, they're confusing, and I'm really damn tired of having to pick a label.
And I also think there are people identifying as asexual/demisexual who aren't. (Maybe because it's the "new" thing, maybe because they're exploring their identity, maybe they feel a need for community, etc.)
