I still love the movies, but there were some really stupid things in every one of them. And everybody is just concentrating on the last one.

Lol, I seriously love all the Indy films except Temple of Doom, because they don't take themselves completely seriously. Hell, even Last Crusade had that awesomely ridiculous scene with Jones Sr taking down a Nazi plane with seagulls, an umbrella, and an assortment of insane-sounding noises.

Seriously Jones Sr. is the best thing in the Indiana Jones movies ever.

No, that's just Judeo-Christian mythology there and not sloppy writing.
The Ark of the Covenant could only be handled by certain Temple priests. (You heard of the name Cohen? Those people are descendents of that priest bloodline.) And the Ark of the Covenant had to be in a certain type of box with certain dimensions and certain ornaments because God said so. If someone not of the chosen dared to touch, they would be struck down by the wrath of God.
That's just Book of Exodus, right there.
