Maybe it's because you see her as more human now?

It's most likely this. Also hearing a lot of people bash someone makes some people think "Do I sound like that?" Or just seeing so many people say negative things makes some people want to play devil's advocate and then they reexamine their initial impressions in a different light.


And not saying it's necessarily the case here but there is a disturbing tendancy to only like opinionated or standoffish women after they've been publicly humbled.
