I know she's the bigger star, but it pisses me off so much that she gets slut-shamed and everything while the guy gets a pass. It's not her responsibility to not destroy his family, it's his. I don't think that it can or should be determined who's "more to blame", but honestly, at least blame them equally.

Was she even dating Robert Patterson? I always got the impression that the tabloids were exploiting the rabid fans who couldn't tell the difference.

At any rate, I have to agree with the other comments - she's been humanised and shown to be capable of making mistakes. It's a lot easier to relate to that rather than Bella Swan or Snow White.

Same! I hated her and her acting but now I’m just so happy...maybe it's because she pissed off all the Twilight people? Haha~

I might give more of a damn about this if I'd ever believed there was an emotional connection between her and Pattinson. As it stands, I assume it's just a way to break out of the Twilight bullshit.

You probably just always feel sympathy for whomever is being attacked or is the underdog. Is this a pattern?

You don't have to think cheating is okay to feel some kind of sympathy for someone in such a high pressure, highly scruitinised position as her slipping up.

TBH, how many 22 year olds have managed to maintain a four year relationship without cocking up some way or another? Admittedly hers was a rather large cock up, but still, she may deserve grief from her boyfriend, Sanders' family, and maybe any of her friends caught in the crossfire, but she really doesn't deserve hate and judgement from several thousand spectators.

I think the people finding themselves unexpectedly sympathetic with her are just imagining what it would be like if there had been this kind of media hype around the most dramatic mistakes they'd made. Clearly it would really suck.

Why is this news? She cheated on her exboyfriend with Robert. Was it all that surprising she'd cheat again? I think the only reason there's this huge backlash about it, is because a lot of the diehard Twilight fans lived vicariously through her and RP (Especially a certain someone, you know the one-GoooooodBoooooooook)

She's human. Stuff happens. It's not news.

Unfortunately, I still don't like Kristen Stewart. No idea why, but something about her just irritates me.

Just thinking about this as a societal issue, how does a society as huge and diffuse as ours maintain "moral standards?" As a culture that no longer primarily lives in villages, we maintain our values by publically calling out those people who violate them and are readily identifiable by many - celebrities and politicians. Kind of like stoning or shunning but via the media. And to a mass audience. Sucks for the celeb, but we all feel righteous.

I just hope she doesn't get attacked by angry spurned Robsten fans at the premiere of the last movie. Movie promotion's probably going to be awkward enough as it is.

The best thing to come out of all this was that hysterical NuttyMadame video.

Now I'm imagining all the Twihards trying to enjoy Breaking Dawn Part II knowing that it's all gone to hell off-camera.

This really is the perfect way to end the franchise.

(But, er - I do feel bad for the wife and kids).

I don't feel any different about her. I didn't really care for her (as an actor or really as a person. She's boring as fuck in interviews) and I believed the whole thing with her and RPat dating was a publicity stunt. If you're dating someone you'd think some of that chemistry would translate on-screen. And all this is conveniently timed to happen a couple months before the last movie is scheduled to be released. I don't buy it and I think Kristen is a flake.

I'm the opposite - I liked her before, now my opinion of her has gone way down. I think half the reason I liked her was because most other people who aren't Twilight fans hate her. I always love the ones everyone else hates.

Me, too. I used to think she sounded full of herself and BS but now my annoyance has disappeared. She did something stupid and selfish but it's a mistake like the mistakes everyone else makes. Whatever.

So did anybody besides me not actually know that she was in a forrealz relationship with RPatts? I thought that was something manufactured by the Twilight marketing team.

Me too for some reason, don't know why. I find myself siding with her and feeling really bad for her. I think it's because I know what it's like to make a mistake and seriously recognize you made a mistake and feel shameful for it.
