So much! Most of my favourite Superhero stories are older (like 70's and 80's era older), but I think the best recent representation of what I, personally, like in Superhero comics is the Blue Beetle (III) run that happened prior to the New 52. It had well developed characters and some more serious stories, but it also had moments like Jaime's dark power fantasy being...him as a dentist. It was fun and hilarious and relatable and cracky, and I loved it. I like the Blue Beetle stuff from the new 52 (the issues I've read anyway. I haven't gotten to the latest one yet.) okay, but it just doesn't compare to the sheer fun we had before.

Oh yes, Blue Beetle was just made of awesome. :) It subverted so many dumb cliches about what was "needed" to make a character or situation interesting and relatable. Like, you know, most people relate to being happy and having fun and thinking cool things are cool once in a while...
