Yeah, it didn't help that they were shown having such a great relationship at the beginning of the movie then -poof- Moses goes missing and the next time he sees him well...He doesn't even seem to like Rameses anymore. /breaks her heart every time

This movie made my little-kid-self feel like a terrible person for sympathizing with the guy who enslaved my ancestors.

Uh, you know that the Bible is not history, right?

...Actually, there are a number of historians who think that various stories, at least in the old testament [though plenty in the new as well], refer to actual events...and there is some historical evidence to back it up [albeit not quite how the bible portrays it, for various reasons depending on story.]

So...yeah. Technically the bible is history, just not from a religious/non-scientific perspective.

Sorry, but one part of the Bible that really cannot be supported is mass Hebrew slavery in Egypt. The Egyptians have no records of such an exodus, and there is no evidence of a mass migration of two million people across the Sinai Desert. The whole of Moses' story has flaws (especially in terms of numbers of people) and noticeable similarities to earlier Near Eastern religious epics and myths.

It would not be intelligent to take the Books of Moses as absolute, incontrovertible fact. The Hebrew Bible is mytho-history at best.
